Spatiotemporal Evolution of Shelterbelts and Sand Control Strategies Based on NDVI Dynamic Monitoring

AbstractTo reveal the vegetation change trends of shelterbelts in Jingbian Countyin recent years,based on the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer Normalized Difference Vegetation Index data from 2Ol5 to 2024, this studyused the methods of Maximum Value Composite,Savitzky-GolayFiltering,and Sen’s SlopeEstimation to monitor and analyze the spatiotemporal evolution of Normalized Diference Vegetation Index.The results showed that over thepast decade,the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index in Jingbian County hasexhibitedanoverall significant upward trend.There were diferences in the degree of inter-annual variation among sample points,with a typicalgradient distribution pattern inspace characterized by“betterconditions in the edges than inthe hinterland, and stronger intervention areas outperforming natural areas".Based on these findings,a sand prevention and control strateg of“site-specific and zone-specific management” is proposed. Diferentiated management approaches have been formulated respectively for the edge enclosure areas,hinterland restoration areas,and agricultural-forestry transition zones to enhance ecosystem stability.Precise implementation of these measures can efectively improve the effectiveness of regional sand prevention and control.
