AbstractIn thenew era，China has launched the“Three Major Campaigns”fordesertification preventionandcontrol，emphasizingthescientificselectionofforestand grass vegetation types andthecontrolofforest stand density.This paperexplorestheroleand significanceof thelow-coverage desertificationcontrol theoryand itstechnologies instrengtheningdesertification preventionandcontrol，and expoundsonthebasic principles of the low-coverage desertificationcontrol theoryas wellasits innovations inscientificallyaddressing waterresourceconstraintsoptimizing thealocationofforestandgrass vegetation，and enhancing thestabilityof ecosystems.Theresearch shows thatthelow-coverage desertficationcontrol technologycanaddress therigidconstraints of waterresources inaridareas andachieve thescientificalocationofforestand grass vegetation，therebybasicallsolvingtheproblemofthedeclineanddeathofsand-fixing forests.Thecouplingofartificial management and natural restoration enhances the diversity，stability，and sustainabilityof the management system.
