Changes of Air Negative Oxygen Ions and Particulate Matter in Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica Forests at the Southern Edge of Horqin Sandy Land

AbstractTakingthe Pinussylestris var.mongholica forests at the southern edgeofthe Horqin SandyLand as the research object,this study observed their dynamic change patterns.From January to September 2024,PC-8Z gridtype micro air stations were installed to monitor the concentrations of air particulate matter (PM2.5,PM10) andair negative oxygen ions in the Pinus sylestris var. mongholica forests,and their dynamic change patterns were analyzed.The results showed thatthe variation patterns of air particulate mater and air negative oxygen ions concentrations were closely related to the seasonalityof plant growth and agricultural cultivation in the studyarea.After the growth of local crops and herbaceous plants,the concentration of air particulate mater significantly decreased,while theconcentration of air negative oxygen ions significantly increased.During the study period,theconcentration of air negative oxygen ions showed a variation trend of“increase—decrease—increase".The concentration of air negative oxygen ions was the highest in the early morning and the lowest at noon.Optimizing the construction technology of artificial Pinus sylvestris var. mongholica forests and forming a multi-layer structured vegetation communityare conducive to improving the air qualityin the study area;the early morning after the growth ofunderstory vegetation is the best time for surrounding residents to carry out recreational activities.
