AbstractEdgeefectisoneoftheimportantconceptsofecologandbiologicalprotectio.Itplysanimportantroleinthestudyof ecological procesessuchasenergyflow,watercycleandnutrientcycleattheecosystemscaleand landscapeecosystemscale.Taking Pinusdensifloapantatioastheeseahject,teelatioshipetweenologicalfactorsDBHtreehighteigtofthefistliing branch,crown,iomassofeachorgan)andedgedistanceof6-yearoldPinusdensiflorawasanalyzedTheresultsshowedatthe edge effect bandwidth of 56-year-old Pinus densiflora plantation in sandyland was 10m .The DBH,crown and biomass of each organ showedpositiveedgeeectwhilethetreeheightandtheheightofthefrstlivingbranchshowedzeroedgeeffect.Thebiological index factors of Pinus densiflora within 10m were better,and the edge effect of the stand in the study area could be enhanced by thinning to improve the productivity of Pinus densiflora plantation.
