Health Evaluation of Typical Artificial Windbreak and Sand-fixing Forests in the Sandy Areas of Southern Xinjiang

AbstractInordertoevaluatethehealthstatusofthevegetation-soilsystemofartificialwindbreakandsand-fiingforestsintheandy areasofSouthernXinjang,12typicalmodelsofforestlandwereselectedastheresearchojects.Troughfieldinvestigationand sampling,aswellasidoordeterinationndanalysis,ombedwithaalyticierarchyprocess(AH)andcossteealthidex model,3fisvelindcatorsand5scod-evelidicatorsereselectedtoostrctanaluatiosteforompresiealth evaluationTesultssowedtathealthidicsoftypicalartifcalwindbreakandsand-fiingforestsrangedfro4to08, with“general health”being the main category,accounting for 50% .Themixed forestof2rows of Elaeagnusangustifolia +6 rows of Populuseuphratica(plot12)reachedthe“healthy"level.Theplantgrowthstatusofthismodelwasthebest,andthedepsoilmoisture content,organicmatterandmassfractionofavailablepotassiumoftheforestlandweresignificantlyhigherthanthoseofthesingle vegetationpureforestplotThroughcomprehensiveevaluationbasedonhealthindex,whenestablishing windbreak andsand-fixing forestsnthesandyareasofouthernXinjang,itisrecommendedtoadoptthemixedmodeof2rowsofElaeagnusangustifolia +6 rows of Populus euphratica with 1.5m×2m plant-row spacingaswellas themixed model4 rows ofFraxinusbungeana +3 rows of Populus alba var.pyramidaliswith 2m×2 m plant-row spacing in the oasis fringe area. And the intra-row mixed mode of Populus alba var. pyramidalis+Elaeagnus angustifolia with a plant spacing of 0.5m is recommended in the wind-sand frontier area.
