Influence of nursing intervention based on IKAP oncaregiving ability of family caregivers of patients with dementia

AbstractObjective：ToexploretheimpactofnursinginterventionbasedontheInformation-Knowledgeatitudepractice（IKAP）model onthecaregivingablityoffmilycaregiversofpatientswithementiaethods：Atotalof76caregiversofdementiapatietswoisitd theoutpatientdepartmentof thedepartmentofneurologyinathirdgradeAhospitalinShanxiprovincefromAugusttoNovember2023 were selectedastheresearchsubjectsandrandomlydividedintoaninterventiongroupandacontrolgrou，with 38casesineachgroup. Caregiversintetrolgoupceivedoutineusigcarehilearegierseteretiooupiedusigitervetbasedo thIKAPtheoyditiotooutiursingcaBefortteretioadeksfterteitervetiothCaregierSilo forDementiaPatients，theGeneralSelf-EficacyScale（GSES），andtheChineseversionoftheQualityofLifeinAlzheimersDisease Scale（QOL-AD）wereusedtosurveythetwogroupsrespectivelyResults：Intheend，37casesintheinterventiongroupand36cases in the control group completed the study.The caregiving ability score of caregivers in the intervention group was （159.14±4.60） ，andthe self-efficacy score was （33.89 ± 1.88），which were better than those in the control group [（145.89±6.15），（26.28±2.60）].The quality of life score of dementia patients was （37.35±3.21） ，which was higher than that in the control group （29.25±2.41） ，and the differences were statistically significant （ P<0.05 ）.Conclusions：The nursing intervention program based on IKAP could improve the caregiving abilityand self-efficacy of caregivers and also enhance the quality of life of dementia patients.
