Research Progress on Efficient Conversion Technology of Organic Waste to Caproic Acid

Abstract:Inviewof the problems suchas limited substrate,lowconversionefficiencyand feedback inhibitioncaused by product accumulation during theconversion oforganic waste tocaproic acid,the process of eficient conversionof organic waste to high-value caproic acid through anaerobic fermentation was described.The production mechanism of caproic acid driven byethanol and lacticacid was introduced.Efective ways to improve conversion eficiency were introduced,such as improving substrate availabilitybyusing pretreatment technology,making up for the shortage of electron donors by introducing external hydrogen,optimizationof microbialfloraandenhancementof electron transfer,reducing theinhibitionof products byusing real-time extraction technologyandadvanced separation technology.Futureresearch should focusondeveloping newanaerobic fermentation technology,comprehensively integrating andoptimizing the entire productionsystem,andfullyconsidering economicfeasibilityandenvironmental sustainabilityintheresearch process,soasto further improve the eficiency and economy of converting organic waste into caproic acid.
