Reverse Osmosis Treatment of Wastewater in Leather Industrial Park and Membrane Contamination Characteristics

Abstract:To investigate thetreatment efectof reverse osmosis systemon industrial wastewater and the characteristics of membranecontamination,firstly,ultrafitration pretreatment was carriedoutonthe wastewater from the leather industrial park,then,using the membrane flux anddesalinationrateas theresponse values,and surfaceflowrate,operating pressure and polyaspartic acid concentration as the parameters,orthogonal experimentswereused to optimize theoperating parameters of reverse osmosis system,and the removal efect of the reverse osmosis system on organic and inorganic substances in high and low salinity were measured.The membrane contaminating componentsand membrane surface propertieswereanalyzed throughburning experimentandinterfacialfree energydata,andit wastried torestore membraneflux by cleaningthe contaminated membrane.The results show that theultrafiltration pretreatmentcan reduce the polution load of thereverse osmosis system,and theoptimiedoperating parameters ofthereverse osmosis system arethat thesurfac flow rate is 31m/h , operating pressure is 2MPa ,and mass concentration of polyaspartic acid is 3mg/L ,and the average removalratesofCOD,totalnitrogen,totalphosphorus,chloride,calcium ionandtotalhardnessinthelong termoperationof the system with high and low salinity are 100% , 96.5% , 98.0% , 96.5% , 94.3% and 94.5% ,respectively. Inorganic substances in the membrane surface contaminants accounts for 87.0% ,and the repulsion is weakened between the membrane surfaceand the polutant,andthe hydrophobicityof the membrane surface isenhanced inthe late stageofoperation. After physical cleaning,alkali washing,acid washing,chelating agent cleaning,the membrane surface morphology and membrane flux are basically restored to the initial state.
