Simulation of Migration Patterns of Cr6+ and Cd2+ in Vadose Zone by Using HYDRUS-2D Software

Abstract:To clearlyunderstand the migration ofheavy metals in the vadose zone,HYDRUS-2D software was employed to conductthenumerical simulationof thecontaminated vadose zonenearachemicalplant,andestablishamathematical model for soil moisture and solute transport. This model was used to simulate the migration of Cr6+ and Cd2+ in the unsaturated subsurface zoneofthe studyareaand monitor their transport trajectories within the soil matrix.Theresults show that (2 Cr6+ and Cd2+ are significantly enriched within 1 m of the surface depth,and their vertical enrichment patterns are similar. (2号 Cd2+ reaches the water table after 2 OOo d of leakage,with a mass concentration of 6.18 μτ g/L at the water table after 3 650 d of leakage. At a distance of 1m from the leakage point,both Cr6+ and Cd2+ reach the water table after 2 OOO d of leakage,and their mass concentrations at the water table are 3.79μg/L and 1.89μg/L respectively after 3 650 d of leakage.
