Risk Assessment of Groundwater Pollution in Jinan City

Abstract:To reasonably manage and control the groundwater resources in Jinan Cityand effectively prevent andcontrol groundwater polution,basedonthevulnerability evaluation ofthe pore waterand karst wateraquifers in Jinan City,combined withthe evaluationof polution source loadandtheevaluationof the functional valueof groundwater,the pollution risks of pore water and karst water in Jinanarea were comprehensively evaluated.Theresults show that the groundwater in Jinan areais generallatalow risk level.Theareas with high,medium andlow pore water polution risksare 1098, 1 453, 3 029km2 respectively,accounting for 19.68% , 26.04% and 54.28% of the total distribution area of pore water. The areas with high pore water polltion risk are mainly distributed inthe midle section and the northern counties and districtsof the studyarea.The areas with high,medium and low karst water pollution risksare179,1O33,2 890 km² respectively,accounting for 4.37% , 25.18% and 70.45% of the total distribution area of karst water. The areas with highkarst water polution risk are mainlydistributed in thesouth-central partofthe studyarea.These areas should be given priority to strengthen polution management and control,strictlycontrol sewagedischarge,and prohibit the accumulation of surface waste to prevent regional groundwater pollution.
