Impact of Multiple Environmental Stress on Fish Diversity in Dawen River

Abstract:Toinvestigate theresponsecharacteristicsoffishdiversityinDawenRiverunderdiffrentypes ofenvironmental influences,based on the fish andenvironmental survey data from 23sampling sitesbetween October 2016 and April 2018,the fish communitystructure wasanalyzed using percentage of similarity analysis andpermutational multivariate analysis of variance.Principal component analysisand correlationanalysis wereemployed to identifykey environmental factors.Subsequently,generalized aditive modelswereapplied to investigate theresponserelationships between fish diversityin DawenRiverandthe dominant environmental factors.Theresultsshow thata total of25 fishspecies were collected in Dawen River,and 68% was the cypriniform species,and Shannon-Wiener’s diversity index and evenness index were low.The water quality was poor,and total nitrogen was the main factor exceedingthe standard.Cultivated land wasthe main landuse,resulting inthe worsehabitatquality.The main environmental factorsafecting fish diversity are the numberof upstream reservoirs,index of substrate,pH,totalhardness,nitrate nitrogencontent,landuse index and chemical oxygen demand,which show diferent influenceonfish indices.Fishabundanceissignificant negative correlation,and fish abundance is thelargest whenthe numberof upstreamreservoirs reaches 25,and the biomass of fish shows a trend of first decreasing,then increasing,and then slowly decreasing with the substrate index.
