Research on the Causes of Genetic Degradation and Countermeasures for Bottle Gourds in Liaocheng City

Abstract：The gourd industry isone of the mostrepresentative characteristic industries in Liaocheng city，with overl00 varietiesand sales accounting for 75%of thenational market share，forming acomplete industrial chain encompasing planting，processing，and sales.This paper briefly introduced the local gourd varieties of Liaocheng and provided a detailed analysis of the causes of gourd variety degradation.Basedon continuous year-round comparative trials of gourdvarieties and hybrid breeding experiments conducted in both Liaocheng city and Hainan province，key techniques for variety purification and rejuvenation were summarized. Furthermore，countermeasures and suggestions to promote the development of thegourd industry were proposed，aiming to provide areference for building the Liaocheng gourd brandand ensuring the sustainable and healthy growth of the industry.
