Effects of Biodegradable Mulch Film Covering on the Growth and Development of Spring Peanuts

Abstract:The application effcts of1O kinds of biodegradable mulch films in spring peanut planting were compared for three consecutive years,and their temperature -increasing,moisture -preserving capabilities, mechanical properties,degradation characteristics,and effects on the growth and development of spring peanuts were systematically evaluated,with the aim of screening out the suitable biodegradable mulch for spring peanuts in the southern Shandong area.The research results showed that the functional period required for spring peanuts in southern Shandong was approximately 7O days. The induction periods of the tested biodegradable mulch films ranged from 30 to 62 days,with an average of about 4O days. Compared to the nomulch treatment, alltested mulch films could increase the maximum temperature, minimum temperature,and accumulated temperature of the soil1O cmbelow the film to varying degrees.The temperature increasing and moisture-preserving performance of the tested full biodegradable mulch films was lower than that of standard PE mulch films,but it could basically meet the requirements of water and heat conditions for the growth and development of spring peanuts.This study could guide the scientific use of biodegradable mulch film and solve the problem of residual mulch pollutionin farmland.
