Abstract： Speed skating is a key development project in China’s winter sports.In recent years，certain breakthroughs have beenachieved in short-distance competitions，but the overall competitive strength stilags behind that of the speed skating powerhouses.From the perspective of international comparison，this paper systematically analyzes the advanced training experience of speed skating powerhouses and finds thattheir longtermleading position in this discipline benefits from emphasizing thestrengthening of basic physical fitness， refining the cornering skating techniques，focusing on the optimization of pacing strategies，and relying on scientificand technologicalsupport forscientific trainingduring the trainingofathletes.Inviewoftheinternational development experience and combined with China's actual situation，this paper proposes strengthening paths such as upgrading the coaching team and updating training concepts；optimizing the youth training mechanism and broadening the talent selection channels; strengthening scientific research support and improving the training level; perfecting thecompetition systemandaccumulatingpracticalexperience.Throughtheorganic integrationof international experienceandlocal practice，the scientific processofspeed skating trainingcanbeaccelerated，thus promoting China's speed skating to move towards the world's strong countries.
