Abstract:Objective:Toinvestigatethecorelationbetweenredcelldistributionwidth(RDW)andleftatrialfibrosis in patients with persistentatrial fibrillation(AF),aswellasthediagnostic valueofRDWforatrialfibrilltion.Methods : From May2O22 toDecember 223,27inpatients diagnosed withpersistentatrialfibrilltionintheDepartmentofCardiology of theFirstAffiliatedHospitalofGannanMedical Universitywereenroledastheatrialfibrilltion group.Meanwhile, 27patients with sinusrhythm matched for age and gender were recruitedassinus rhythm group.Pearson correlation coefcient analysis was usedtoassess thecorrelation between RDWandleftatrial fibrosis,andreceiveroperating characteristic (ROC)curve analysis was performed to evaluatethediagnostic valueofRDW forpersistent atrialfibrlation. Results:Compared withtheSR group,thelevelofRDWintheAFgroup wassignificantlyincreased,withastatistically significant difference( P<0.001 ).The area under theROC curve(AUC)of RDWwas O.848,and the optimal cut-off value of RDW for predicting persistent atrial fibrillation was 13.9% ,with a sensitivity of 85% and a specificity of 74% TheAUCofleftatrialdiameter(LAD)wasO.846,andtheoptimal cut-offvalueofLADforpredicting persistentatrial fibrillation was 38mm ,witha sensitivity of 74% and a specificity of 77% .Pearson correlation coefficient analysis showed thatRDW level waspositivelycorrelated with the degreeof leftatrial fibrosis( .r=0.676 , P<0.01 ),and LAD wasalsopositivelycorrelated withthedegreeofleftatrial fibrosis r=0.644 , P<0.01 1).Conclusion:RDWissignificantly elevated inpatientswithpersistentatrialfibrilltion,andRDWlevelispositielycorrelatedwithlefttrialfibrosisItmay serve as a biomarkerfor predicting the occurrence of persistent atrial fibrilationand left atrial fibrosis.
