Abstract： Aiming at the current economic evaluation of the service life in the in-service assessment task， there are limitations such as calculating the cost only by financial indicators，single evaluation indicator result， and dificult to efectively support the decision-making of equipment upgrading and improvement，a method based on the statistical method and information entropy to construct the economic evaluation indicator system of the ship service life is proposed. The method is based on the principles of comprehensiveness，scientificity and observability.Firstly，an initial screening of the initial set of evaluation indicator system is carried out.Then， using the correlation analysis and information entropy weight screening method，the redundant indicators are eliminated and the independence and significance of the remaining indicators are ensured.Finall，the reasonableness of the evaluation indicator system is verified by the factor analysis method. The results of empirical analysis show that the evaluation indicator system determined by applying this method can eficiently reflect about 97.76% of the effective information of the original observable indicators，and improve the efficiency and accuracy of the assessment of the economic performance of the ship service life.
