LU Xiang,WAN Xiao-xia,CHENG Taoetal(Guizhou ProvincialFodand DrugInspection Institute,Guiyang Guizhou509) Abstract[Objective]To investigate the effects of exogenous calcium ( CaCl2 )on seed germination of Lysionotus pauciflorus Maxim. under droughtstressimulatedbyplyethyleneglycol(EG-6O).Metod]estudysetusixEG-60Ooncentrationgadients(0,01, 200,250 and 300g/L )and four CaCl2 concentration gradients (0,10,20 and 30mmol/L )to assess germination rate,germination energy,and germinationindex,ileaalyingteinteractnetweecalcumaddoughtstressResult]Geinationratesignificantlydcrasdhn PEG⩾200g/L (lowest at 300g/L ). 20-30mmol/L (204号 CaCl2 increased germination rates by 10%-15% under severe drought ( PEG⩾ 200g/L) ),but inhibited germination under non-drought conditions ( ⩾20 mmol/L CaCl2 ). Under moderate drought ( 50-125g/L PEG), (204号 CaCl2 reduced germination energy by 8%-13% . Under severe drought ( 200-300g/L PEG), 30 mmol/L CaCl2 improved germination energy by 6%-10% . At low PEG concentrations ( (0-125g/L ), CaCl2 decreased germination index by 2.2-4.9.At high PEG concentrations (200- 300g/L ),30mmol/L CaCl2 restored germination index by1.5-3.4.[Conclusion]Exogenous calcium ( 20-30mmol/L )could effectively alleviate drought-induced inhibition of L pauciflorus Maxim. seed germination,with its eficacy being drought-intensity dependent. These findings provide an optimized cultivation strategy for karst environments with drought stress.
