Abstract:Suspendeddropletsinoilexperience pronouncedpolarizationanddeformationundertheinfluenceofanexternal electricfield.Traditionalgrid-basedmethodsfacelimitations incapturingtheintricatelocalfeaturesof thedroplet interface, whilegridlessparticlemethodsoferadvantageswithrespecttocapturingthedropletinterface.Thepresentstudyestablishes acoupled model,consistingofsmothed particlehydrodynamics(SPH)and finitevolumemethod(FVM).Thenodal electricfieldforcewassolvedusingtheFVMandtransferredtoSPHparticles.Thereafter,theSPHmethodcalculates theforces andupdatesthepositioninformationofparticle.Thecouplingof theelectricfieldandflow fieldenhances theprecisionofinterfacecaptureand numericalsimulation.The numerical findings werecomparedand validated using published experimental data.Basedonthis,thestudyexaminestheaggregationbehaviorofdropletsunderarectangularwaveelectricfield,ilustratingthe processofdropletaggregationandanalyzingthevariationof interfacialtension.Theresultsshowthattwodropletsapproach eachotherinanoscillting mannerunderarectangularwaveelectric field,withinterfacial tension hinderingdroplet approach and promoting the fusion process.
