Abstract:The Cretaceous MishrifFormation inthesoutheastern Iraq was deposited inacarbonaterampenvironment,characterized bydiverseandcomplexreservoiroriginsandsignificant developmentcontradictions.Basedondataof11coring wellsacrossfouroilfields inthesoutheastern Iraq,thesedimentarycharacteristicsofthecarbonaterampwereclarified,reservoirtypes were classifiedbyintegratingporegenesis,composition,physical properties,microstructure,andproduction performance,and thecontrolling mechanisms ofthecarbonateramponreservoir development were identified.Theresults showthatthecarbonaterampoftheMishrifFormationismainlyinfluencedbywaveactionwithweak tidalactivity.Facies variationisnotpronounced,componentsarepoorlydiferentiated,reefsaredifculttopreserve,andbioclasticsoalsare widelydeveloped.Allochemsarerarebutbioclastsareabundant.Gravityflowsareabsent,and lithologiesarediversein restrictedenvironments.Reservoirsareclasifiedintofourtypes:vug-dominated,intergranularpore-dominated,isolated pore-dominated,andmicroporous-dominated.Vug-dominatedreservoirsdevelopinpointshoalsandarejointlycontroled bysedimentation,penecontemporaneous diagenesis,andtectonics.Intergranularpore-dominatedreservoirsoccurinbarrier shoalsandtidalchannels,mainlycontrolledbysedimentation.Isolated pore-dominatedreservoirforminlagoonsand front shoal-basinsetings,controlledbydiagenesis.Microporous-dominatedreservoirsdevelopinlow-energysetingssuchaslagoons,slopebottoms,anddeep-watershelves,withlimiteddiageneticalteration.Overall,incarbonateramps,highenergysedimentation promotes thedevelopmentofhigh-qualityreservoirswith strongmicrostructure heterogeneity.Deep-water andrestrictedenvironmentscontroltheformationofbafflesandbarrers.Alargenumberofhigh-porositybutlow-permeabilityreservoirsoccur inopenanddeep-waterenvironments,showingweaklateral heterogeneity,whilerestrictedenvironments host complex reservoir combinations,with strong spatial heterogeneity due to facies changes.
