Abstract:This paper focuses on the potential advantages of moxibustion in treating senile osteoporosis (SOP), usingthe OPG-RANKL-RANK signaling system as a theoretical entry point to explore its mechanism inregulating bone metabolism balance.Given the high prevalenceanddisabilityrates associated with SOP,and theconnection between Chinesemedicine's theory of "kidney governs bones"and modern molecular biology mechanisms, this study aims to systematicallyanalyze the feasibilityof moxibustion in improving bone metabolism imbalancethroughtheregulationof the OPG-RANKL-RANK signaling pathway. The article first elucidates thecore regulatory role of the OPG-RANKLRANK signaling system in bone formation and metabolism. It then examines the pathological characteristicsof SOP, analyzing theintrinsic link betweentheimbalanceofthis signaling pathwayand the traditionalpathogenesisof "kidney yinand yang imbalance."By highlighting the functionsof moxibustion in warming the meridians and unblocking the collateralsand regulating theendocrine system, the paperdemonstrates itspotential efectsonthe OPG/RANKLratio, osteoclast activity, and bone density.Additionally, itsummarizes theclinical advantages of moxibustion therapyin termsof safety, analgesicefects, and metabolicregulation. This comprehensiveanalysis providesa theoretical reference for the integration of tradtional Chineseand western medicine in the preventionand treatmentof SOP.The paper also suggests future research directions for standardizing moxibustion operational parameters.
