Exploration on Medication Rules of Chinese Medicine in the Treatment of Xerophthalmia After Operation for Senile Cataract Based on Data Mining Techniques

Abstract：Objective：To explore the medication rules of Chinese Medicine in the treatment of xerophthalmia after operation for senilecataract based on Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Computing System（TCMICS）V3.5. Methods：Prescriptions for the treatment of xerophthalmia after operation for senile cataract were retrieved fromthe China National Knowledge Infrastructure（CNKI），Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform（Wanfang），and China Science and Technology Journal Database（VIP）from the establishment of the databases up to October 31，2024.The TCMICSV3.5 was used to analyze the frequency of medication use，naturesand flavors，channel entry，association rules，and clustering.Results：A total of 198 prescriptions involving 243 diferent Chinese medicines were included. High-frequency Chinesemedicines included Chrysanthemi Flos，Angelicae Sinensis Radix，Poria，Glycyrhizae Radix etRhizoma，and Rehmanniae Radix.The medicinal natures were mainly cold and warm，with flavors primarily sweet，biter，and pungent.The channel entries were mainly liver，lung，and spleen meridians.Clustering analysis identified five groups of herb combinations.Conclusion：Chinese medicine treatment for xerophthalmia afteroperation forsenilecataract primarily focuseson nourishing the liver and kidneys，clearing heat and improving vision，regulating qiand invigorating blood，and strengthening the spleenand draining dampness.The main herbalcompositions are Danggui Shaoyao Powderand Qiju Dihuang Pils.Thissuggests that themain pathogenesisof xerophthalmiaafter operationforsenilecataract involves wind-heat inthe liverandlung withdampnessaffecting theeyes，andqi stagnation with blood stasis.
