Abstract: Tile-ends discovered on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau during the Han Dynasty can be categorized according to their surface decorations into decorative tile-ends and inscription tile-ends withthe former being mainly cloud patterned while the grid patterned and wheel patterned tile-ends are characterized by their regional characteristics; and the latter being mainly auspicious language tile-ends and chronological tile-ends.The age of these tile-ends is mainly concentrated in the early to late Eastern Han Dynasty with the earliest not exceeding the Xinmang period; compared with other regions the evolution of their type has lagged behind;and the emergence of jiyin wadangs in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau is related to the political weather of the change of course.The fact thatthese tile-ends were unearthed at sites related to county ofices reflects the historical processof the integration of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau into the integrated pattern of Chinese civilization.
