Evaluation of the Core Competitiveness of Listed Planting Companies from the Perspective of Innovation

Abstract：Given the crucial role of enhancing the core competitiveness of listed planting companies in driving agricultural technological advancements and strengthening China's international agricultural competitiveness，evaluating their core competitiveness isan urgent issue to address.From an innovation perspective，an evaluation index system for the core competitiveness of planting companies has been constructed，encompassing three dimensions：technological innovation capability，market innovation capability，and organizational innovation capability.Taking listed planting companies in China from 2020 to 2023 as the research subject，the evaluation reveals the following findings：Technological innovation capabilitycaries the highest weight in the evaluation index system and is crucial to the companies‘core competitiveness. Companies ranking at the top exhibit generally higher characteristics in terms of research and development（R&D）investment rate，net profit margin on sales，technician density，and patent quantity. Conversely，companies ranking at the bottom face issues such as slow technological progress and a shortage of R&D talent. Companies need to create an ecological environment conducive to technological innovationand significantly increase financial support for technological innovation.In the output stage of technological achievements，companies should strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights to ensurethat innovative achievements bring about value-added，thereby enhancing the company's competitive position in the market.
