Abstract:Based on the characteristics and advantages of magnesium alloy wheels,this paper provides an overviewof theirapplicationprospects intheautomotiveindustry.Itfocusesonanalyzingthe technical featuresand performance differences between 2 mainstreammanufacturing processes: casting (gravity casting,low-pressure casting, andsemi-solidcasting)and forging (isothermal extrusion,spinning,and composite processes).Additionallyrelevant post-processing and testing methods are introduced.Although forged magnesium alloys ofer superior performance,they come with higher costs and certain proess limitations.Finally,the potentialof new processessuch as multi-directional forging i enhancing the comprehensive performance of magnesium aloy whelsand promoting industrial applications is discussed.
