Abstract：To address the issue of cooling water leakage in resistance spot welding，this paperanalyzes the interfacebetween the electrodecapandthe electrodearm.Through microstructural analysisand hardnessgradient analysisof theadhesivematerialontheelectrodearm，itisfoundthatforcopperalloysofdiferentmaterialsunderthe combined action of electric fieldsand pressure，thecopper alloy with lower strength undergoes strengthening.This strengthening phenomenon leads to adverse effects in the application of automotive BIW welding.
