Abstract:The objective of the present studywas to addressthe isses of inadequate tillage depth and congestion resulting from throwing,bydesigning arotary tilagecutter with a 26O mm rotary radius.The Archimedean helix method was employed forthe design of the side cutting edge of therotary tillage cuter.Therotary cutter was designed with aroundedand smooth surface that was over-connected between the front cuting edge and the sidecutting edge to improve the performance of the sliding cut.The cuter material used was 65Mn steel,,and the tools were analyzed statically and mechanically using ANSYS Workbench,respectively.The EDEMdiscrete element simulation software was utilizedontherotarytillage knife toconduct a three-dimensional analysisof soil cuting and throwing.Theresults show that the tool cuts the soil and throws the soil optimally at a speed of 240r/min ,which meets the operational requirements.Furthermore,itwas determinedthat the maximum force position of therotary tilage knife is situated inthesidecuting edge,inclose proximity tothe bending region.This finding provides atheoretical foundation for the optimization of the tool design.
