Review of Research on Bamboo Root Excavators

Abstract：Moso bamboo has a wide distribution area in China and is widely used in the national economy，mainly in the fields of furniture manufacturing，papermaking and handicraft production.However，post-harvest Moso bamboo degradation leads toprolonged rootdecay，which adversely afects bamboo regrowth.Presently，bamboo root extraction is predominantly reliant on manual labor，characterized by low mechanizationand productivity levels.Consequently，the deployment of bamboo root excavators has emergedas atransformative solution for the bamboo industry. Despite he nascent stage of research onbamboo root excavation，the system is gradually being refined.The prevalent methods of excavation include crushing，vibration-based，and annular cuting techniques.The majorityof relevant equipment remains in the experimental phase，lacking in large-scale commercialization.Byconsulting relevant literature，this study summarizes the currnt state ofbamboo root excavator research in China and the merits and limitations of several prototype excavators.Moreover，the development direction of bamboo root excavators is prospected， which provides reference for the innovative development of subsequent bamboo root excavators.
