Experimental Study on Swaying of Urban Rail Vehicles

Abstract:The swaying problem of urban rail vehicles caused by the secondary hunting movement in actual operation is increasing.It is necessry to study the causes of the secondary hunting movement of urban rail vehicles and the degree of vehicle swaying.By conducting on-line vibration test of urbanrail vehicles in operation and the study of wheel-rail relationship,the influence of secondary hunting movement on the timefrequency characteristics and stabilityof vibration acceleration of car body and framecan be systematically studied.In the study of whel-rail relationship,the difference of equivalent taper between measured track profile matched to actual wheel tread,standard 6O rail and standard 6oN rail is studied by testing wheel tread profile,the rail profile in normal operation sectionandthe rail profile in secondary hunting section.The results indicate that the secondary hunting movement of urban rail vehicles is dominatedby the lateral vibration of bogieframe,which is transmitted tothe vehiclebodyandlead tothe increaseof lateral stability,but has litle influence on the vertical stabilityof the vehicle;when thesecondary hunting frequency of urbanrail vehicles is about 5Hz ,the vibration mode shows the coupling motion of traverse movement and swaying,which is mainly due to the protrudingrail shoulder caused by poor maintenance of rail profile,which makes the equivalent taper too large during the matching between wheel and rail.It issuggested that therail grinding accuracy during maintenance should be strictly controlled,so as to achieve the standard rail profile.
