Thymol improves the core symptoms of autism through regulatingscinderin expression

MethodsTheASD-likebehaviorsofratswereoservedusingthreeboxsocialexperiment，penfieldexperimentandyouthsoialexperiment.RNA-seqwasusedtodetecttheexpresionofRNAintheprefrontalcortexofrats.Theproteinlevelofscinderinntheprefrontalcortexofratswas measuredbyWesternblot.Results：Comparedwith therats inthecontrolgroup，theratsinthemodelgroup showedAlisdllidialesdloiilit stereotyped behavior.Compared with the control group，the model group showed reduced standing times（ P<0.001 ）and increased self combing time（ P =0.003）.Moreover，theexpresionlevelofscinderinintheprefrontalcortexincreasedinmodelrats.Afterthymolreatment，theASD-likebehaviorsinthe modelgroup weresignificantlyimproved.Comparedwiththe model group，thenumberofstanding times in the intervention group increased（ P<0.001 ）and the self grooming time decreased（ P=0.004 ）.The expression of scinderin basically returnedtothenorallevel.Conclusion：TheabnoalexpressonofsinderinintheprefrontalcortexofASmodelatscan lead to ASD-likebehaviors.Thymol interventioncanreducethe expresionofscinderinandimprovethecore symptoms of ASD. 【Key words】autism spectrum disorder;valproic acid;thymol;scinderin
