Value of voice recognition function test in cognitive function screening among elderly patients

【AbstractObective：Toinvestigatethevalueofvoicerecognitionfunctioninthearlysreningofdementia.Methods：Atotalof55 elderlyndividualswithcognitivefunctionimpairmentwereenrolldasgroupA，and115normalelderlyindividualswereenoedas groupB.Mini-mentaltateexamination（MMSE）wasusedtodeterminethepresenceorabsenceofcognitivefunctionimpaient，nd thenthetwoquestionsofbasicvoicediscriminationandcelebrityvoicerecognitionweredesigned todeterminewhethertherewasa declineivoicerecognitionfunctionandanalyzetheassociationbetwnvoicerecognitionfunctionandcognitivefunctionResults： The correct number of basic sound discrimination questions：Group A was lower than group B（ P<0.001 ），and the difference was statisticall significant.The correct number ofcelebrity voice recognition questions：Group A was lower than group B（ P<0.001 ），and the diference wasstatisticallysignificant.TheAUROC analysisshowedthat thecorelation betweecognitive functionandbasic voice discriminationtestwasO.18（95%CI=0.108-0253），ndthecorelationbtwencognitivefunctionandcelebrityvoiceecoition test wasAUROC=0.139（95%CI=0.079-0199），bothofwhichshowedstatisticalsignificance.Thevoicerecognitionfunctiontestwas used for preliminary screening，and under the premise of ensuring a negative predictive value of about 90% ，the basic voice discriminationtesthadacutfvalueof1Oquestos（12questiosintotal）andthecelebrityvoicerecognitiotesthdacutovlueof 7questions（12questiosintotal）.Conclusion：Therearesignificantiferenesintheperformanceforbasicvoicediscriminationtest andcelebrityvoicerecognitiontestbetweentheelderlypatientswith cognitive function impairment and thenormal elderly individuals， suggesting that voice recognition function test can be used for the screening forpatientswithearlydementia，therebydelayingdisease progression and reducing medical burden.
