【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the morphological changes offetal lateralfissure in transverse section of thalamus at 20\~32 weeks,and to evaluate fetal development.MethodsA total of 180 pregnant women who underwent regular prenatal check-ups at our hospital from January 2O22 to June 2024 wereselected as research subjects.The gestationalage rangedfrom2Oto 32 weeks.Weanalyzedthedevelopmentof thefetalbrain'slateral sulcus at different gestational weeks,focusing onthe depth and width of the sulcus.Based on thedevelopment paterns ofthe lateral sulcus,we classified them into six grades fromO to5.Werecorded thenumberof cases for each grade atdiferent gestational weeks and assessed the surface area of the lateral sulcus,the relationship between the sulcusand surrounding anatomical structures,the size of theventricles,and the development of thesulci. ResultsAt 2O weeks of gestation,thedevelopment of thefetal brain's lateral sulcus was relatively smooth.From 24 to 32 weeks,the depth of the lateral sulcus deepened,exhibiting a wavy pattrn.There was a positive correlation between the development of the fetal brain's lateral sulcus and gestational age.Grade Owas observed inonlyone fetus at 20 weeks; Grade 1(shallow arc shape) was present from 20 to 24 weeks. Grade 2 appeared between 20 and 26 weeks,whileGrade3was notedfrom 21to28 weeks.After29to 3O weeks,most fetuses reached Grade5,where the lateral sulcus presented a " ⊥ " shape,with the insula completely covering the island of rReil.The display rate of these features increased with gestational age,reaching 100.00% from 29 to 32 weeks. The surface area of the lateral fissure increased gradually with gestational weeks,from 4.0cm2 at24weeks to 9.5cm2 at32 weeks.Ventricle size increased steadily from7\~8mmat 24 weeks to11\~12 mmat 32 weeks.ConclusionThedistributionof lateral fisure of differentlevels showedacertain regularity.Theobservationand analysisof ultrasonic morphology can better understand the development of fetal lateral brain fissure.
