Design of an All-dielectric Metasurface Filter Encapsulated in PMMA

Abstract:Filters are among the most frequentlyusedoptical components inoptical systems.Traditional filters often require precisecoating technologies,leading tohigh productioncostsandbulkydevices.Incontrast,opticalelements basedonmetasurfaces arethinerandlighter,andtheyareregardedasoneofthemostpromisingdirectionsfornew-typeopticalcomponents.This paper proposesadsignforanall-dielectric metasurface-basedfiter thatachieves highselectivitywithreducedfbricationcomplexityby optimizing the structural parameters ofthe metasurface.The feature size of the metasurface filter is not less than 100nm ,and a large feature size is conducive to reducing the requirements for the production process. Operating around 630nm ,the filtercan block incident light within a specific bandwidth of approximately 2nm .Compared to most metasurface components that are directly exposed toair,a PMMA layerwasused inthis studytoencapsulatethe metasurfaceas preliminary packaging during thedesign process.The results show that this design can effectively protect the metasurface.
