Abstract：Taking the launch of the public data open platforms asa quasi-natural experiment，this studyconstructs a multi-period diference-in-differences modeland empirically examines the impactof publicdataopeningonurban-rural integrated developmentand its mechanismbasedonpaneldataof288 prefecture-levelcities inChina from2O10to 2023. The results show that publicdata opennessignificantly promotes urban-rural integration，and this conclusionremains validafter a series of robustness tests.Mechanism analysis indicates that public data opennessfacilitates urban-rural integration through inherent pathways such as helping break down urban-rural information barriers，promoting factor mobilitybetweenurbanandruralareas，andenhancingurban-ruralscientificandtechnological innovationcapabilities. Heterogeneity analysis reveals that the promoting efect of public data openness on urban-rural integration is more significant inareas with high agglomeration of production factor and cities with high administrative levels.Based on the aboveconclusions，itissuggestedtofurtherimprove theconstructionof publicdataopennessplatforms，implement differentiated publicdata openness strategies inlightofregional factor endowments，and strengthenthesupportingroleof data in empoweringurban-rural information sharing and promoting factors mobility.
