Study on the curing reaction behavior and performance of epoxy resin for dry prepreg

Abstract:Thisstudyemployedarotationalrheometer,geltimetester,diferentialscanningcalorimeter(DSC),universal testing machine,and dynamic mechanicalanalyzer (DMA)to investigate therheological properties,curing behavior,mechanical performance,and moistureresistance ofJH2165epoxyresinand its castings.Results indicate that JH2165 resin exhibits a gelation time exceeding 6O min at 130∘( ,withexcellent viscosity stabilitybetween 75∘C and 170∘C The viscosity doubling time at 75∘C is approximately 12O minutes,demonstrating favorable processing properties.Reaction activation energy and reaction order were calculated using methods such as Kisinger and Ozawa.The optimal curing process was determined via T 一 ⋅β extrapolation.The cured casting exhibited flexural strength,impact strength,and glasstransition temperature( Tg) of 178.97 MPa, 38.12kJ/m2 ,and 212.78∘( C,respectively.After 24 hours of water boiling,the retention rates of flexural strength, impact strength,and Tg reached 89 % , 80% ,and over 97 % ,respectively,demonstrating excellent mechanical properties and resistance to moisture and heat.
