Abstract

Thisstudysystematicalyreviews theregulatory frameworksand practical experiencesof Japanand Korea inthe managementof recycled plastics intended for food contactmaterials.Bothcountries haveestablished comprehensive legalsystemscovering theentirelife-cycleofplastics，implemented classificationandcollection schemes，setutilizationtargetsforrecycledmaterials，andadoptedchallenge testmethods fromtheEUand the U.S.FDA to verifydecontamination eficiency.These measures have enabled strictsupervisionand effcient use offood-grade recycled plastics.As China has notyet permitted theuse of recycled plasticsin food contact applications，thisstudydrawing ontheexperiencesof Japanand Koreasuggests thatunder thebackgroundof the Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Goals and the circular economy，China should developamanagementmechanismforfood contact recycled plastics thatfitsnational conditions，ensuring food safety while promoting high-value recyclingof plastic resources.
