A Review on the Overview, Regulatory Application Stantus and Cognitive Misconceptions of Food Additives

Abstract

Thisstudyaims tosystematicallyelaborate on foodadditives.Itconductsan in-depthanalysisof their conceptandfunctional classification,andexpoundstheirkeyrolesinthe food industry.Meanwhile,itreviews theapplication historyoffood additive,sorts outthe current status of application standardsand regulatory systems,andpointsouttheexisting problemsinthecurrentapplicationoffoodadditives,suchasoff-scope use,over- limit use,and illegal addition of non-edible substances.

Additionaly,itrevealsthepublic'scognitivemisunderstandingsaboutfoodadditives,including the“confusion between food additives and non- edible substances”,“the belief that natural food additives are safer”,and “blind pursuit of‘zero additives’"

Finally,from the perspectivesof industrial development and safetyassurance,thestudy proposes thatthe compliant use of food additives is a crucial support for the modern food industry rather than the source of food safety risks.Italso suggests that public misunderstandings should be eliminated through strengthened supervision and scientific popularization.This study is intended to provide comprehensive references for the scientific cognition of food additives and thereby promote the healthy development of the food adive industry.
