Heidegger's existential philosophy and its contemporary applications in life education for medical students

Abstract: Heidegger’s existential philosophy of“being-towards-death”has made a profound philosophical reflection on the issues of human life and death from the perspective of the phenomenological method.It cals on thelivig to“go to death first,”obey the“callof conscience,”andultimately achieve“poetic dwelling.” Medical students,as future doctors,need to have a profound understanding of the essence,significance,and value of life and death that surpasses ordinary people.Therefore,exploring the life education implications of Heidegger’sexistential philosophy,systematically examining its theoretical origins,basic content,and contemporary applicabilityin life education for medical students,can help stimulate medical students’thinking aboutthe true death,deepen the life and death literacy of respecting and revering life,practice medical practitioners’original aspiration that medicine is a benevolent art and benefits the masses,cultivate ecological moralityof protecting nature and green healthcare,pursue transcendent sentiment of being extremely knowledgeable and diligent in medicine,and promote medical students to incorporate individuals’life meaning and value realization into the vision and goal of human health and happiness.
