Abstract: Jixian County in southern Shanxi was a grand stage for ethnic integration between the 3rd and 6th century and a long-term confrontation area between the Northern Qi and Northern Zhou regimes in the later period of the Northern Dynasties. Till today,many Buddhist statues and steles have been preserved,which are important stone carvings and historical materials for studying the local administrative system,military system,ethnic distribution,and the process of ethnic integration at that time,such asthe four-sided stele of the Northern Zhou,the steleof the fourth yearof Wuping (573)inthe Northern Qi,the standing statue of Bodhisattva of the Northern Dynasties,and the stele of the first year of Zhenguan (627) in the Tang Dynasty.The statue, inscriptions and titles are well-preserved with great academic value.Through verification with the local historic documents,the statue images and inscriptions on them reflected many historical details of Jixian in the military,political,religious and cultural social aspects during the Northern Qi and Northern Zhou etc.
