Abstract：Automation technology with industrialrobots as themaincarrer isan important engine torealizethehigh-quality developmentofChina's manufacturingidustry.Tis paperintroduces diferent skillaborclassfications intothetask modelonthe basis of AcemogluandRestrepo（018a）anddeducesthatindustrialrobotapplicatiocanimprovethetotalfactorproductiityof enterprises troughautomationexpansionandnewjobcreation.Attheempiricallevel，thispaperselectsA-sharemanufacturing companies listedin2O11-2021asaresearchsample toempiricallyexaminetheimpactof industrialrobotapplicationonenterprise totalfactorproductivityandthemechanismofitsrole，andtheresultsshowthatrobotaplicationcanenterprisetotalfactor productivityandplaysafacilitatingrolemainlytroughthemechanismofautomationexpansionandnewjobcreation.Further heterogeneityanalysisrevealsthatthepositive impactofrobotapplicationontotalfactorproductivityofcapitaland technology-intensienterpsesadnostate-owedenterprisesismoresigicant.Terefore，enterpsessouldtaketeiiiatie toseizethepporusofutoatiditellgnttasftiogateteligntuactugiteodu， and improve enterprise total factor productivity.
