Research on the Status and Intervention Strategies of Psychological Health Literacy among Vocational College Studentsin the New Era

Abstract:BasedonNational Mental HealthLiteracyQuestionnaire,this article tests the Mental Health Literacy(MHL)of vocationalcolegestudents,exploresthedevelopmentgapoftheirmentalhalthliteracyandproposestargetedimprovementst MHL.Theresearchresults foundthat: (1)the totalscoreofMHLofvocationalcolege students,“knowledgeandconceptsrelated to mentalhealt",nd“knowledgeandonceptselatedtoentalil",elas“teatitudesandavirtndencytoeih one's mentalillness,soredhigherthantheadult norminChina;Tescoresof“atitudesandbehaviortendencytomaintaningand promoting one'sown mental health”and“coping withone'sown mentalillness”,as wellas“atitudes andbehavior tendencyto maintaining and promoting the mental healthofothers”,arelower than theadult normin China; (2)Bycomparing thedemographic informationoftheparticipants,itwasfoundthatfemalestudentshadbtterMHLandperformanceinvariousdimensionsthanmale students;Urbanstudentsperformbeterthanruralstudentsinoverallandvariousdimensions;;Studentsfromeconomically disadvantagedfamilies perforslightlylowerthanthosefromeconomicallywel-offamilies; (3)A pre-and post-testcomparisonwas conductedontheteaching modefocusingonthedevelopmentofMHLamongvocationalcollge students.Intermsofthetotalscore andeachsecondarydimensionofMHL,theposttestscorewas higherthanthepre-testscore.Conclusion:The mentalhealthducation curriculumforvocationalcolege students basedonthe frameworkofMHLcaneffectivelyimprove theirmental health level.
