A Study on the Relationship between Adult Attachment and Social Anxiety among “Post-OOs" Higher Vocational Freshmen: Using Self-esteem as a Mediation

Abstract:This studyinvestigated320“post-0Os”vocationalcolegefreshmenusing theExperiences in CloseRelationships Scale (ECR),Self-steem Scale(SES)ndIteractoniossscale(A)tosematicallyeaneeelaosisgdult attachment(eytdaedatiety)elf,dciaityltsealedta exhibitedoverallelevatedsocial anxietylevels,with female studentsscoringsignificantlyhigherthanmalestudents( t=-3.92 , (20 p<0.001 ), while no statistically significant difference emerged between only-child and non-only-child groups ( t=1.06 , p>0.05 ). Pearson correlationanalysisdemonstratedsignificantpositivecorelationsbetweenbothdimensionsofadultatachmentandocialanxiety (attachment avoidance: r=0.24 , p<0.01 ; attachment anxiety: r=0.55 , p<0.01 ). Conversely, self-esteem as a psychological resilience resource showed significant negative correlationswith attachment avoidance( r=-0.38 , p<0.01 ),attachmentanxiety( r=-0.55 (204号 p<0.01 ), and social anxiety ( r=-0.49 p<0.01 ).Mediation analysis indicated that self-esteem completely mediated the relationship between attachment avoidance and social anxiety ( β=-0.06 , t=-8.54 , p<0.001 ), while partially mediating the association between attachment anxiety and social anxiety( β=-0.03 , t=-4.67 , p<0.001 ).These findings suggest that enhancing self-esteem effectively mitigatestheseeaoaletychyslt invocationaleducatioandproidsboththeoreticalfoundationandpracticalstrategiesfordevelopngself-estem-focusedpsycological interventions in vocational college mental health education systems.
