Abstract：ThisstudyusessemioticstoexplorethetransformationofYiclothingpaternsinthedesignofmodern home wear.By introducingthetheoryofCharlesMorrssmioticsandanalyzingthethreedimensionsofmeaning，formandaplicationofYiclot ingpaters，theculturalsymbolsofYiclothingpatersareextractedandtheinovativeideasaredesignedbytakingtheYiplantbasedclothingpaternsasexamples.Fromtheperspectiveofsemiotics，theformalsymbolsareexplored，thecompositioforms aresortedoutndteconnotationsofclothingpatersreinterpreted.Fromtheperspectiveofphllogythispaperanalyesthe compositionandcoloraplicationcharacteristicsofthepattersonYiclothngwhichprovidesatheoreticalbasisfortheinoative designofsubsequentpaterns.Fromtheperspectiveofsymbolictheory，bycomprehensivelyapplyingdesigntechniquessuchas formderivationndrconstruction，andcolorefinementandinovation，teextensionandtransformationofpattesaecheved. FinalytakingthemewearasthemodencaierofYiclothingpaterns，startingfromthethree-dimensionalprspectiveof Morrissemiotics，thehomeweardvelopmentpathof"ColorfulYiages"isconstructed，providingnewideasfortheieritance of Yi clothing culture.
