ABSTRACTOBJECTIVETo explore the wilingness topay(WTP)of Urumqi residents forcommunitypharmacies’medication guidanceservicesanditsinfluencingfactors,soastoprovidedatasupportfortheoptimizationofcommunitypharmacyservices andtheestablishmentofa fee structure for medication guidanceservices.METHODS A stratified quota sampling method was employedtoselect14communitiesinUrumqiCityFromApril toJune025,acombinedoflineandonlinequestionairesurvey wasconductedamongadultresidentsinthesecommunities.Thecontingentvaluationmethodwasusedtoconstructthree hypotheticalscenarios(namely,basic,enhancedandextended services)of medicationcounselingincommunitypharmaciesto assessresidents’WTPfortheseservices.BinaryLogisticregressonwasemployedtoanalyzetheinfluencingfactorsofWTP. RESULTSAtotalof 576validquestionnaires were obtained.Under the scenariosof basic,enhancedandextendedservices, (204号 38.54% , 49.65% and 67.19% of the respondents expressed WTP for the services,respectively. Occupational type,type of basic medicalinsurance,annual income,perceptionofpharmacists’profesion,andaceptance leveloftheservicewereidentifiedas major influencing factors for WTP( ⋅P<0.05 ).CONCLUsIONS The willingness of residents in Urumqi to pay for medication counselingservices providedbypharmacists incommunitypharmaciessignificantly increaseswiththeenrichmentofservicecontent. Itisrecommendedtoincorporatebasicmedicationcounselingservices providedbypharmacistsincommunitypharmaciesinto medicalinsurancepayment,whilevalue-adedservicessouldbepartiallyorfullyself-paidbyresidents.Aditionally,efforts shouldbemadetostrengthenthepromotionof theprofesionalandservice valueoflicensedpharmacists,soas tofacilitatethe high-quality development of pharmaceutical care.
