On the Inheritance and Development of Historical Biography Literature in Yue Shi's The Biography of Lu Zhu

Abstract;Drawing uponhisoficialcareer experienceandliteraryacomplishments，Yue Shi'schuanqi TheBiographyofLu Zhu sharescommon ground with historical biography literaturewhile simultaneouslyexhibiting distinct literary characteristics.In terms of materialselection，Yue Shiprimarily bases hiswork on historicalrecordswhile incorporating supermatural anecdotes．He adopts the biographical approach of centering narativesaround characters and concluding with moral admonitions，embedding within these hisprofoundreflectionson scholarofficial ethos.Yue Shi employs arational andobjectivenarrativestyle，where even cited poetry serves to supplement historical contextrather thanexpress lyrical sentiments，demonstrating hisaesthetic preference for factual authenticity．TheBiographyofLuZhuembodiesboth"moralprinciples"and"literaryartistry"： ideologically，itemphasizesloyalty，righteousness，andchastity，contributing to theconstructionofscholarly ethos；artisticall，it presents a stemand austere style，representing a quintessential example of the " Songstyle" characteristics in chuanqi literature.
