Handscrolls and Hanging Scrolls： A Comparative Study on the Visual Construction of the Peach Blossom Utopia Motif

Abstract：AsaclasicofChinese literature，ThePeachBlossom Spring hasinspirednumerouspaintingsbasedonthemotif of the "Peach Blosom Utopia".These works primarily take two representative formats：the handscroll and the hanging scroll.Through an in-depth comparison of The Peach Blossom Spring motif in these two formats— examining their differencesand similarities incomposition，narrative，andthe evocationofartistic conception一 thispaperaims to explore the distinctiveartisticstylesand characteristicsmanifested by each format.
