Risks，Causes，and Suggestions in China Smart Libraries from the Perspective of Critical Algorithms

Abstract Algorithms，asan important wayof connecting people，information，and resources，arebeing integrated into theintelligent processoflibraries inChina，reshaping thestructuralrelationshipand interactiverulesamong them.However，the "non-neutrality"ofalgorithms brings challenges tothedata processingandserviceoflibraries，soithasgreat significance to examine and sort out negative effects ofalgorithms during information service processs of smart libraries.Firstly，thisarticleintroducescritical algorithmtheoryandtakes itasananalyticalframework toexplorerisksof smart libraries from thre aspects：informationbias，cultural masking，andthelackof subjectivity.Subsequently，internal reasons fortheformationoftheserisksaredisclosed，includingalgorithmic biases，alue biases inalgorithms，andcovert algorithmiccontrol.Finall，risk defensesuggestions whicharealgorithmco-construction，culturalco-creation，andinstitutionalconsensus，areprovided toachieve the goalof providing effective information servicesandenhancingcultural identity.
