Dissemination of Modern Sports Health Knowledge in Newspapers and Periodicals from the Perspective of Knowledge Sociology： Based on the Analysis of Diligent Sports Monthly

Abstract：Based on the theories of sociology of knowledge and rhetoric，this paper studies the reports of physical health knowledge in Diligent Sports Monthly by using the methods of literature ， content analysis and historical research. It is found that the journal’ s focus on sports health knowledge was influenced by social， governmental， and intellectual factors， with an emphasis on four key areas： physiological knowledge， psychological knowledge， hygienic knowledge， and physical exercise knowledge. Furthermore， Diligence Sports Monthly employed three main strategies to disseminate such knowledge： constructing causal relationships， making comparisons， and using narrative storytelling. The study argues that the dissemination of sports health knowledge through modern newspapers and journals played a significant role in challenging traditional gender norms and promoting women's physical emancipation， spreading scientific health knowledge to facilitate the modernization of sports in early modern China，and providing a historical reference for constructing a sports knowledge system with Chinese characteristics to offer valuable insights for contemporary sports health communication.
