Research on the Emotional Mechanisms of International Communication of Artificial Intelligence Technologies from the Perspective of Empathic Communication

Abstract:With thedevelopment and maturationofartificial intellgence(AI) technologies,AI voicehas been widelyapplied across various international communicationscenarios,including digital personas,video dubbing, and broadcasting.Empathyrepresentsavital strategy for enhancing the eficacyof international communication; however,the emotional mechanisms through which AI voice elicits empathic responses among international audiencesremain insuficientlyunderstoodand warrant further investigation.This study is basedonthe“Emotions as Social Information Model (EASI)”and employs an online experimental approach to analyze how the emotional arousal ofAI voice influences overseas audiences'attitudes after watching Chinese cultural content. Research has found thatAIvoiceemotionalarousaldoesnotinfluence audiences'atitudes towardthevideo,but itdoesaffect their culturalatitudes relatedtothe videocontent.Comparedtohigh emotionalarousalAIvoices,lowemotional arousal AI voices significantly enhance American audiences’atitudes toward Chinese culture.This efectremains consistent across three content types: cultural fiction,cultural popular science,and cultural news.
