Design and application of common mode filter for three-phase step-down rectifier in active front-end

Abstract:Nowadays,the shortage of fosil fuels has created the increasing demand for new energy,which makes the power electronic converters applied in the field of new energy and electronics receive increasing attention.As an active front end,three-phase six switch buck rectifier (3P6S -BR)is influenced by the parasitic capacitance between DC and ground,resulting in an increase in the subharmonic components of the output voltage.As a result,the power quality at the grid side is aected bythe rectifier.To solve the above problems,a mathematical model of 3P6S -BR containing common-mode capacitor was first established.Through theoretical derivationand analytical calculation,the cause of the influence of commonmode capacitor on the total harmonic distortion rate of input current was revealed. Secondly,according to the characteristics of current mode space vector pulse width modulation and rectifier mode analysis,the mechanism of high frequency current path formed by common mode capacitor was defined. Based on the above analysis,the voltage relationship between the high frequency component of the inductor current and the common-mode capacitor was derived,and the engineering design method of the common-mode capacitor was formed. Finally,the experiment proves that 3P6S -BR with common mode capacitor can effectively suppress the current distortion on the side of the rectifier network.
