Optimal control of return power in DAB converter under constant output voltage

Abstract:Dual active bridge (DAB) converter requires high dynamic performance and high efficiency under constant output voltage conditions such as new energy grid connection and motor controller,but the existence of its return power affects the constant output voltage and brings difficulties to the efficiency improvement of the converter. Firstly,the relationship between the output voltage and the duty cycle of the internal and external phase shifts under the extended phase shift of the converter was analyzed,and the output voltage prediction model of the converter was derived.Then,the optimal control of the return power considering switching loss was embedded in the voltage prediction model,and a model predictive control method was obtained. Accordingly,it is necessary to ensure that the primary return power and switching loss of the converter are reduced while improving the stable and dynamic performance of the system. In addition,a feedback correction method was proposed to improve the control accuracy and enhance the control robustness in the case of parameter mismatch.Finally,the simulation model of the converter was built,and the stable dynamic performance and return power of the converter were compared with different control strategies,and the results show that the predictive control model can beter take into account the constant voltage output and the working efficiency of the converter.
